UPDATE: March 17, 2009
Everything listed has been sold.

Since I’ve been concentrating on solo and all-acoustic gigs for a while now, I have a small PA that has gone unused for about the past year. Everything is gently used. Makes a great system for smaller venues or rehearsals. Contact me if you are interested or have questions, want more info, would like photos, etc.

YAMAHA AS108 SPEAKER PAIR $165
YORKVILLE AP800 POWER AMP (includes 4-space soft rack) $300
MACKIE 1402 MIXER (includes carrying case) $100
ALESIS QUADRAVERB $50
BLACK SPEAKER STANDS $40
FURMAN RACK LIGHTS/POWER $30
Or $600 for EVERYTHING!

BTW Since most of this stuff is fairly heavy and/or clunky I’d prefer to find a local buyer rather than deal with shipping. Thanks.

This year I’m going to be offering a sort of “honors recital” for those guitar students who can perform between 15-25 minutes of music. This event will take place at Donkey Coffee and Espresso on December 6, 2008 at 7:00pm.

We’ll need to limit the number of participants to about five or six people so if you would like to perform let me know and we’ll start preparing a set of music during your lessons this Fall.

For those that are able to perform I think this will be a great opportunity to get more comfortable on stage and truly let your music be heard! I also hope that those who do not perform that evening will come out to support this endeavor.

I haven’t figured out all of the details yet, but we’ll most likely charge a small cover charge to cover the expense of reserving the room and paying the sound technician and any money we make beyond that we’ll donate to a local charity. No cover charge for parents and we’ll decide on the charity later…

So whether you’d like to perform or be in the audience, hold the date!

John

Below are the dates and fee schedules for Fall 2008 and Winter/Spring 2009. A few notes about lesson fees for this year:

Last year I raised the price of lessons for all incoming students to $16.50 per lesson but kept the $15.00 per lesson price for all of my existing students and those who returned in September 2007.

This year I’d like to have everyone pay the $16.50 fee (usually an extra $6.00 per month) however, if you choose to pay for the entire Fall and Spring sessions you’ll actually be paying a little less than $15.00 per lesson!

If the increased fee is a problem for you and your family, please let me know and I’ll be happy to discuss it with you.

Also please remember: students are required to pay for the following month’s lessons on the last lesson of each calendar month in order to reserve a lesson time for the coming month.

If you have any questions or concerning this information or guitar lessons in general, please feel free to contact me. Thanks so much for your continued patronage, I look forward working with you and assisting in your continued musical growth.

Sincerely,
John Horne

Summer Session

No lessons in July
August 4 through 30
Advance payment for entire session (8 Lessons) only $120. A 10% discount!

I know that many of you have vacations and other family activities planned for the coming Summer months. If you plan on continuing lessons during the Summer but have some occasional conflicts, just please let me know when to expect you in advance, and we’ll adjust your payments accordingly.

This was my first year having a predetermined schedule including 2 recitals for the entire year with discounts available for advance payment. It definitely took time and planning to pull all of that together, but I think it was worth the effort. I hope that having the scheduling information and payment discounts available made a difference to you. If there’s anything I can do to make guitar lessons more productive or to make the business end of things more convenient let me know. I’m always open to suggestions.

I’ll be making the schedule for the 2008-2009 soon and will pass along the information once it’s finalized.

Thank you for your continued patronage, it’s a privilege to work with you.
