Disclosure Statement

disclosure_statementUpdated August 15, 2010.

I have absolutely no problem with disclosure, but I’m kind of waiting to see how the FTC’s new rules concerning disclosure shakes out before spending much time writing a statement for this blog. Right now there is a great deal of confusion and controversy surrounding on whether or not disclosure statements are fair or necessary and specifically how to legally implement a disclosure statement for a blog. If you’d like a peek at how confusing the subject gets take a look at Randall Rothenberg’s Open Letter to FTC.

Readers of www.johnhorneguitar.com should be aware that I have received some items reviewed on this site for free. Other items were paid for out of pocket. I have never been paid to post a review on any product. If it looks like I only offer positive reviews here it’s only because I simply don’t have the time or the heart to write negative reviews. Unless the product seems downright dangerous or misguided I’d just prefer not to write any review at all. Instead, I’d prefer to call attention to those products that are creative, innovative, and offer the most bang for your buck.

Finally, just to cover my ass, here’s a list of all of my reviews and so far and a word about how I received each product:
