Such a poignant cartoon — I’ll bet 90% of Guitar Hero players have no idea they’re using a plastic Les Paul.

Gotta love an innovator in both music AND musical instruments — truly a legend.

A friend recently gave me a CD of early Les Paul recordings. Funny how flashy guitar players look on stage these days, but many can’t play as well as Paul in his heyday. And you know he didn’t look flashy.

Thank goodness after his passing, he is still recognized in an era where kids practice plastic guitars more than solid bodies…

The funny thing is, the Guitar Hero panel can now read “2005-2011″ as that series has been retired.

    @ Avery:
Yes you are definitely right. Guitar players now are flasy or showy. During old times, the guitarist got this suave way of playing guitar that you will definitely remember forever. They are classic.
