Spring Break 2007

A brief synopsis of our spring break in Ann Arbor & Chicago.

Ann Arbor

March 17 & 18

Stopped at Cabella’s along the way.
Ate at Cosi for the first time.
Saw comedian Mike Green at Ann Arbor Comedy Showcase.
Hung out with friends Meilan, Cesar, and Lucas!

Monday March 19

Woke up to sleet in Ann Arbor. We hit the road about 9:00AM.
Stopped inSt. Joseph, Michigan for a break.
Lunched at the Pump House Grille.
Bought treats for Jack and Katie at FuzzyButz Pet Bakery.
Arrived in LaGrange, IL just outside Chicago.
Finally tasted a Chipotle burrito!
Stayed two nights at the luxurious Countryside/LaGrange Holiday Inn.
(Their Holidome is a must-see!)


Tuesday March 20

Visited the Lincoln Park Zoo!
Drove through Evanston and saw Garrett Evangelical Seminary.
Visited with Rob, Heather, Nathan, Lillian, and Napali!
Stuffed ourselves with Giordano’s World-Famous Stuffed Pizza.
Listened to the Deep Blue Organ Trio at the historic Green Mill!

Wednesday March 21

Visited the Art Institute of Chicago!
Checked into the actually luxurious Palmer House Hilton!
Ate dinner at Petterinos!
Experienced Wicked!

Thursday March 22

Walked and shopped the Magnificent Mile aka Michigan Avenue.
Cool places included the Lego store, Niketown, and the Mac store.
Ate lunch and shared the biggest piece of tirimisu ever at Rosebud on Rush!
Strolled through Millennium Park.
More Giordano’s for dinner.

Friday March 23

Mel’s OAKE Conference begins.
I visited Archicenter and Jazz Record Mart and actually practiced a little.
Munched on legendary Garrett Popcorn.
Dined one last time at Rosebud, this time in the Theater District.

Saturday March 23

Woke up early and headed home to Athens!
