My two-week stint teaching at National Guitar Workshop has ended. As usual, it’s been a rewarding week of meeting and working with amazing musicians and students and pretty much no sleep.
Below are a few photos of our Modern Acoustic I class and a recording of the group performing Bob Marley’s “Redemption Song” at Friday evening’s student concert. In the photo set taken under the tree are: Sam, Robert, Karl, Tyler, and Tom (back row L to R) and Lauren and Terra (seated L to R). Also, that’s our intern Tyler in the Zappa t-shirt. Thanks to all for coming together and making our week a positive experience. It was a pleasure to work with all of you. Keep practicing!
Below are photos of my week two students: Ford, Cliff, Brittany, Harrison, and Andrew. Not pictured are Jessica, Gia and Dennis. Besides all of the material we covered in class, on Thursday evening the group performed a guitar ensemble arrangement of Pink Floyd’s “Wish You Were Here” with Cliff making his live singing debut! I also had a fantastic time creating some original compositions with “Ohio” and Kayla and Eric in my Alternate Tuning minors. As usual, working with everyone at NGW was a blast, but I’m ready to head home and get a good night’s sleep in my own bed!
